Tableland Fish Stocking Society

32 years Tableland Fish Stocking Society

Amazing Achievement by all the committees past and present!

The Tableland Fish Stocking Society Inc.  is a not-for-profit Association formed in 1992, committed to the maintenance of a recreational freshwater fishery in Lake Tinaroo and the surrounding waterways.  Some of our funding comes from the Stocked Impoundment Permits ( SIPs scheme,) however the Annual Tinaroo Barra Bash and hard work by our members helps boost this funding and allows us to maintain the Barrier Net, conduct Electrofishing Surveys on fish growth and other expenses that are incurred running the society.

2021 – 30 years of Local Community providing an event to showcase the Atherton Tablelands and Lake Tinaroo.

20 years of Tableland Fish Stocking hosting the event, promoting an active outdoor lifestyle and highlighting Fishing and Big Barra to the World.

AIMS OF THE TFSS.

To be an active organization in stocking the waterways of the Atherton Tableland, with fishes suitable to that area for recreational fishing.

To maintain the fishery and habitat, and to assist in the education of others to that purpose.

To promote the area as a family recreation area.

To promote all aspects of fishing and to foster conservation amongst anglers.

To encourage and assist research pertinent to the biology and management of freshwater fisheries in natural and altered waterways.

To liaise with other organizations with similar aims and objectives.

New members are always welcome, and we invite the public to join in when we release fish into the dam, Follow our Facebook page for updates! People of all ages are encouraged to join and can assist with fish stocking, volunteering or just to learn about fishing in Lake Tinaroo.
